This year marks the beginning of an exciting new era for KKVS. After many discussions between the school and the Cambridge representative, we have met the requirements and become the only official Cambridge accredited school in this region. When the children earn their certificates they are recognised worldwide to a set standard and are the same as a child sitting the exam in Peru or France or New Zealand. In Primary this means that English, Science and math will be taught within the Cambridge framework. Junior Mathayom will be the same and Senior Mathayom will be doing just English. Senior English students will still be able to study for, and do, the IELTS exams as before. Cambridge will not affect the official Thai transcripts and assessment but will be in addition to these. Testing has started within mathayom to find the current levels so the staff can begin teaching the Cambridge curriculum. The first round of Cambridge exams will be in June/July 2015 for the whole school, followed by the second round in October/November 2015.
ในปีการศึกษานี้โรงเรียนของเราเริ่มต้นกันด้วยเรื่องที่น่าตื่นเต้น หลังจากการพูดคุยกันระหว่างโรงเรียนและผู้แทนจาก Cambridge โรงเรียนขอนแก่นวิเทศศึกษาได้รับเลือกให้เป็นตัวแทนอย่างเป็นทางการแต่เพียงผู้เดียวของ Cambridge ในภุมิภาคนี้ โดยประกาศนียบัตรที่นักเรียนจะได้รับนั้นได้มาตรฐานสากลเช่นเดียวกับการสอบในประเทศเปรู ฝรั่งเศสหรือนิวซีแลนด์ โดยในระดับประถมศึกษาและมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นจะใช้แนวทางการสอนของ Cambridge ในรายวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ วิทยาศาสตร์และคณิตศาสตร์ ส่วนระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายจะใช้เฉพาะการสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ โดยที่นักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายยังคงเตรียมตัวและเข้าสอบ IELTS ได้เช่นเดิม ทั้งนี้หลักสุตร Cambridge จะไม่กระทบต่อใบแสดงผลการเรียนและการประเมินผลตามหลักสุตรไทยแต่ Cambridge จะเป็นส่วนที่เพิ่มเติมเข้ามา ในช่วงเปิดภาคเรียนทางโรงเรียนได้ทำการทดสอบระดับภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียนก่อนเรียนไปแล้วเพื่อให้ผู้สอนเริ่มสอนตามหลักสูตรได้ การสอบ Cambridge รอบแรกจะมีขึ้นในเดือนมิถุนายน/กรกฎาคม 2557 ส่วนที่รอบที่สองในเดือนตุลาคม/พฤศจิกายน 2557
